From everyone at Ring Of Kerry Charity Cycle

Thank You

A big thank you to all our brave, generous cyclists who undertook the Ring in challenging conditions with a strong headwind and frequent showers.
Our brilliant Volunteers kept them safe and well fed on the road and in Cahirciveen, Kenmare and Killarney Food Stations.
So many volunteers worked from dawn to dusk on the day completing 100’s of tasks from directing traffic, to filling water bottles to cleaning toilets!.
The  pre-event planning, dedication, commitment, effort and enthusiasm shown by all our Board, Committee, On the Day organisers, Volunteers, Sponsors, Well-wishers and of course Cyclists….is immeasurable…all on a voluntary basis…putting their heart and souls into this wonderful event!
No other cycle gives more…and when the pedals stop turning our deserving Charities can plan on receiving the funds to support them in the fantastic work they all do….here’s to keeping The Ring on the Road and Alive and Well for 2023!
Save the date Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle Saturday, July 1st 2023…..Number of cyclists will be limited for safety so keep an eye on entry dates

A special mention to one great man

Thank You Cathal Walshe

What more can be said about this man…Cathal Walshe…he took over PRO 39 years ago and was the man who drove ROKCC from a small gathering of friends in1982 raising a few pounds to what it is today, Ireland’s leading Charity Cycle raised over €17m for deserving Charities over the years.

He has worked tirelessly with one aim in mind ‘to help others’. We are all deeply indebted to Cathal, despite losing his wonderful wife, June in 2020 and  suffering from illness Cathal insisted on putting 100% into ROKCC once again this year. His presence inspires the cyclists as they depart for the arduous 175km cycle, his warmth in welcoming them home sets ROKCC apart from all other events. MIle Buiochas Cathal.
