Irish Red Cross

There has been a Branch of the Red Cross in Tralee since 1939. Over the past 85 years we have been heavily involved with the local Community through First Aid Training, providing medical cover for many of the sporting events and caring of the elderly, especially during the recent pandemic.

Our current ambulance is an 06 Ford Transit vehicle and because of its age has now reached the end of its useful life and it needs to be replaced. Under the CLAR 1 Programme, we have been offered a substantial subsidy through our Headquarters in Dublin for a replacement, on the condition that the Branch comes up with the remainder of the cost, namely €30,000.00. 

To date, we have raised just over €20,000.00 from our own resources, leaving a shortfall of almost €10,000.00. You will appreciate, how vital it is to have a reliable ambulance, especially when providing medical cover for events throughout the county. 

It is still quite a large sum of money for the Branch to produce in a short period of time, and we would very much appreciate your support.
