Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation

The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation is a nationwide charity that funds and delivers in-home nursing care and respite support to families caring for children up to the age of seven with severe learning disability, often associated with complex medical needs.

These children may be tube fed, oxygen dependent, living with seizures, complex medication routines and sleepless nights. Their care needs are constant, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Behind every child is a family doing their very best, often exhausted and in urgent need of support.

That’s where Jack and Jill steps in. Our nurses provide care in the family home, giving parents the chance to rest, spend time with siblings, or simply take a shower or get a full night’s sleep. Our service operates seven days a week, with no means test, no red tape and no waiting list, because when our families need help, they need it immediately. We also provide end-of-life care for all children up to the age of seven, regardless of diagnosis, empowering families to bring their child home at the most difficult time.

Right now, Jack and Jill is supporting 490 families across Ireland and has cared for over 3,200 families since 1997. In Kerry alone, we have supported almost 100 families, with 14 local families currently receiving care.

When you choose to cycle for Jack and Jill in the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle, you are directly funding vital nursing hours in a child’s home. Every kilometre you cycle helps give a family time, time to rest, time to cope, time to simply be together.

As one Jack and Jill mum shared:
“Without Jack and Jill, I wouldn’t get any time to myself. It’s a lifeline. Sleep is a luxury. Simple things like having a shower can be really challenging when you have a child who requires 24/7 care, so this support is vital,”

Sign up today, take on the challenge, and cycle to give families the gift of time, care and precious moments together.

Thank you for your support!
