ARAS MHUIRE NURSING HOME
Aras Mhuire Nursing Home was established in 1971 by a group of local volunteers and operated as a Welfare Home to accommodate the needs of the elderly in the North Kerry/ West Limerick area. In 2002 the home was registered as a Nursing Home to meet the changing needs of the community. 24 hour nursing care is provided by qualified nurses and care assistants. We can accommodate a maximum of 38 residents over the age of 18. We provide long term person centred residential care for residents with low medium high and maximum dependency needs as well as residents with Dementia, intellectual, mental and physical disability and acquired brain injury.

Funds from the ROKCC will help our progress
We have completed enclosing our substantial garden to make it safe for residents, our next step is to proceed with making it a sensory garden(documentation on benefits included) It is also our intention as part of this to include a polytunnel to provide residents with home grown organic vegetables which has a dual benefit-cost efficient food supply and meaningful activity
Extend and upgrade 5 twin bedrooms
In order to improve and enhance the quality of life of our residents and comply with HIQA standards ,we wish to extend and upgrade 5 of our twin rooms to provide more individualised, private and resident specific space for our residents. These rooms are part of the original building from 1971.
