'The demand for our service is ever increasing and it no longer possible to accommodate every family. By raising funds for Brú Columbanus you will help to ensure a family will not be turned away when a relative is seriously ill in hospital. With your support, we can make our goal to purchase a new facility in Cork this year, a reality.'
Brú Columbanus provides home from home accommodation to families of critically ill patients, particularly children in Cork based hospitals and hospice. When families are stricken with concern for a loved one who is seriously ill, we offer them with a calm, caring and welcoming environment where they can stay close to their loved one nearby.
Over 70 volunteers run our service and accommodation consists of 26 ensuite bedrooms with supporting kitchens and lounges. To date, we have provided accommodation to 7,300 families in Ireland. We are an independent charity relying completely on fundraising and charitable donations.
Help us to provide more accommodation to families in need and to enable them to stay close to their loved ones in Cork hospitals and hospice.
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done for us. My daughter, was in a car crash last October and had brain surgery, thank god all is well today. We were under terrible stress and all the staff and volunteers were so kind and comforting. We will never forget you all. Thank you all again."

“Words cannot express how thankful we are to have spent time here in our home away from home. Without Bru Columbanus we would never have got to make memories which will be forever in our hearts and minds. We got to be close to our little boy while he spent time in the neo natal unit in Cork University Hospital. He came into the world at 8.49pm on April 25th and decided that he wanted to be so special that he had to live in the clouds. Both ye and baby will always be with us forever & beyond. We would be lost without you."
